Student Organizations

Students are encouraged to participate in one or more of the many student organizations offered by WWTC. Participants learn leadership skills and other skills to help them in their career.

National Technical Honor Society

To be eligible for membership in the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), post-secondary students must maintain no less than a 95% average in their technical subject and attend full time. High school students must also maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average at their home school. Members can not have more than four absences during the semester that they are being evaluated. The purpose of the NTHS is to promote the ideal of honesty, service, leadership and skilled workmanship among technical students of America.

Gold Star Ambassadors Leadership Team

Being selected to serve on the Gold Star Ambassador Leadership Team is an honor at Wes Watkins Technology Center. To be considered, students are nominated by their instructor and then must go through an interview process. Many apply but only a few are selected. As a GSA, students attend leadership training classes and assist with many events throughout the year. In March they attend Leadership Day at the Capitol and are able to sit in on House and Senate sessions as well as meet with their legislators. The GSA's are also responsible for planning and presenting the Veterans Day assembly each year.
